arctic cat 650,line question

hey guys, I have a neighbor that has his arctic cat 650 atv in my barn, he originally was going to clean the carbs, then ended up needing to replace the choke assy,

he put it all back together and it wont start, it runs for a second with teh choke on , but then dies, I thought immediatly fuel problem, so we shot a little gas into the carbs and she ran,

we looked for kinked hoses and such and found that there was a line disconnected on the left side of teh 4 wheeler,, this line goes from the right side of the carbs where it is tee'd into the single line that goes to the left side of the engine,,

I looked on a few sites and determined it is a check valve,,,, but cant find where it goes to,,, it tastes like gas,,[dont ask] I have a picture if it will show up, it is # 58,, I cant seem to find # 59 which "should:"? be on the engine somewhere?? if anyone knows t he location where this should deadend please inform, I appreciate it,pat

Looks like the Carb overflow/vent line to me. If you turn the ATV over it will allow excess gas to escape the bowl. It also allows any pressure buildup to escape the carb bowl. The valve 58 is one way flow (out) so that it will not suck in mud or water if crossing creeks, playing in mud, etc...

His Arctic Cat 650 is the one with the Kawasaki 650 engine. Go to Arctic Chat forum and you will get a much better answer.

thanks roamerr I appreciate it, thats makes sense,, I am going to have to t ell him to check his fuel lines for a kink or a bad filter maybe, thanksd alot,, funny as it sounds I did ask him if there was gas in it,, and there was,, thinking maybe a slingblade moment, pat
