Did a search and didn't see an answer. My Ct235 owners manual does not specify either way. I am assuming that everything is metric but wondered if anyone knew for sure?

Even Detroit pretty much uses metric on their cars/trucks. It is getting pretty rare to find things in SAE anymore. Korea absolutely uses metric system.

so far I have only used SAE wrenches on mine where the SAE is close to the metric size

I am pretty sure everything is metric on em

Best to buy a metric wrench set. Wrenches are not universal and a small size difference could end you with a rounded off bolt...or busted knuckles.

My 1999 Dodge Dakota is half SAE and half Metric (ticks me off). US military and the medical system use metric but everyone else is stubborn. They do not understand that metric is easier to use, understand and more precise. The world recognized this many years ago.

Ask random street people...What is the correct order from small to big - 15/16", 1/2", 5/64" and 3/32"? Or 7.5mm, 9mm, 24mm or 4mm?

Time to upgrade systems.

If they upgrade systems how are they going to sell as many tools?
With the current system you need to buy a toolbox full of SAE and another box full of metric:mad:

I agree totally!! Metric rules, like doing long division with no remainder. :)

More reasons to not be one of the very few countries left in the world that uses the SAE system.

"The usage of the metric system varies around the world. According to the American Central Intelligence Agency's Factbook, the International System of Units is the official system of measurement for all nations in the world except for Burma, Liberia and the United States."

My son gave up his SAEs a long time ago. At his shop, everything is metric. He searches the other way around when needing something to fit the rare SAE.

Frankly, the US has moved steadily toward the metric system. We stubbornly hold on to the English weights and measures in certain public things, but really, most of the stuff has already made the transition behind the scenes. Personally, I've done metric for most of my life. Got a motorcycle in the late 60's and never looked back. I've added and added tools. Rarely have bought an SAE anything for a long time.

Yes, it is a pain to have this total duplicate set of sockets, wrenches, etc. But, it's not like I'd throw them(SAE) away at this point. Antique/legacy stuff will require them for quite some time.
