1600 hours on my 4110 and no oil leaks or useage - level doesn't change on the dipstick between services.

Welcome to the Mahindra family!
In reguards to your question, any new engine has the possibility of using oil. I followed the break-in instructions and this is the first motor that hasn't consumed oil. Its a 2810 HST with approx 610 hours now. I check the oil real quick before I start and Tranny oil in the sight glass each time before I start. Ounce of prevention is worth a bunch of wrench turning I think. I am 110% satisfied with mine! John

4500 4x4, no oil burning after 411 hours.

Some tractors use a lot of oil if not properly "broken in".. the JD industrial engines we build in our payloaders at work, get special oil for the first 50 hours.

Mostly new engines use oil because they arent beaten enough to "seat" things like piston rings and valves...

Hi all,

Thanks for all the replies. It is very good to read skipmarcy at 1600hrs.
And whiteh2o; please don't get me wrong, I don't borrow trouble. When I read the other thread I thought that the rodcap failed from improper torque, not oiling. But I could be wrong so I asked you folks. Every thing thats built can fail. Name tags don't seem to change that. I have around 2000hrs on my bobcat with no oil use and fully expect the 4025 to do the same.
So far I spent an hour blading my half mile driveway. Holding it around 1800 rpm and listening to the sweet sound of the engine. Man I do love a diesel under load.
Happy New Year

I ran in my 6000 with a 7ft brush hog in 3ft tall field grass. Kept it in 3rd and 4th gears at about 1500 rpm...It does "bark" when the grass would get thick/wet. When it barks, the heat and pressure go up significantly.... thats when the rings start doing what they're supposed to do...good luck with 4025. Sorry if some of you folks don't understand the "bark". Just a word used to describe a diesel under load. BobG in Va
