Reading several posts here and I have gotten to wondering if I made the right choice in my Gator Tires. As you may or not know I went with the Vampire's. I put 27x10x12 on all four corners and a 2" lift kit on the front. I will mainly use the machine for hunting and recreational riding. The machine still has plenty of grunt, although a little less than the factory 489's. There is no rubbing anywhere and the tires do a fantastic job when on the trails or in the slop. Just wanting to do no harm to the machine or axle's................Like said, they are working fine so far with no problems. I am running them at 12 psi on all four corners also..............................Roger:confused:

if you get into the mud don't spin them too hard because that sudden stop will kill the shaft or diferential. and never pull a atv or other utv from the front with your utv the wealest part is the front shafts.tham vamps are some heavy tiresdid you ever get them caked up with heavy clay mud yet? if so how did they do on the engine? most people think when they get into a mud hole they need to gun the peddle to the floor and that the worst thing you can do i never give it more than half throttle if it's sits there spinnin and she sin't movin she's stuck why take the chance of them tires catching a root and biteing all of a sudden and snapping a shaft.

vamps are nice but i would have not went with them with only 23hp to turn them they are a very heavy tire and after you got them caked up with mud they are gonna be double the weight just take it easy and you should be fine.

jcmseven runs 27inch itp mudlites with a 1 1/2 inch lift with no problems.
The axles are different on the new xuv's opposed to the older hpx's.
You should be fine.

axle size is the same and the the mudlites are way lighter than the vamps and they don't bite like the vamps or other mud tires. a mudlite tire will slide in mud where a vamp and 589 will bite.

so after lookin at the specs i would go with the 589's longer lasting and 6ply rating.4ply is just a tad over stock can you say "slime" thats why they say the 589's is the best mud /snow tire out there for it's weight.

Tommy is right about twisting a axle or damageing the drive train ...

Best thing to do is like he said, when your in the mud, just let the tires work, dont " frog it to the floor " thinking that all that spinning is going to help. For aggressive tires are worst at it for grabbing, that's what they were built for, TRACTION & GRABBING AHOLD , but anything that spins like crazy, and the tires grab, you can take it to the bank, there is something going to give, if it isn't the drive shaft, it's going to be the something in the gears / drive train somewhere. There has been thousands of folks that have learned that the hard way. Another thing people don't realize, if a machine, either a ATV or UTV starts bounceing while it's hung up / or stuck , that machine is eventually going to get a bite, and when it does , " BAM " , there you go , your machine is down, you pride is shot to ****, and your pocket book is fixin' to get alot lighter ~~~~
The tires you have will do you just fine, just think before you do it.
That machine with them tires will serve you well , just don't abuse it !!!

You don't have to baby the XUV. These things are tough.
This is my 3rd gator and no major problems.
Enjoy it. :p

Dang, Looks like my tires are lighter than the others that I considered buying and I know that they will dig and clean out great..................Like I said, they are dandy on my ride and they do a wonderful job. I don't have a lot of hours on the XUV as of yet, but I can say this; It is a tuff ride and you don't have to "baby" it.;)
