I have been looking at buying a 25-35 HP 4WD JD tractor with a quick attach loader that I can attach a front blade. Is it me or are the prices down south a lot more reasonable then in Canada. Even with the exchange rate and taxes it seems a better deal to shop south of the border. Any thoughts on this topic. I see a lot of good prices on E-bay that are worth taking a chance since there is obviously no warranty after purchase. Thanks

Not always. Color,Dealer, age of unit, etc make a big difference. If buying new check on the taxes and warranty.

Probably all the shipping, the loaders and cutters are made in Ontario, then get shipped to Georgia... Nah!

I have found buying new in other countries is quite often much more expensive then here in the US. Camera's and equipment being my most recent experience. If you could get the item purchased here and bring it back without the duties, I have no doubt it would be cheaper here then in Canada. The prices for tractors up there is unbelievable to me.

Hi,

Prices better in the U.S. ? Yes and that applies to both new and used but used is much cheaper in the U.S.

You are going to get stuck with PST and GST whether you buy in the U.S or Canada, and there is no duty so depends on transportation costs.

Have see some good deals in Canada where if you factor in exchange\transportation then pretty close in price but depends on the dealer. Most Deere dealers in Canada not willing to dicker much in Canada.

Warranty issues, well, Kubota is the only 1 that tells you upfront that Kubotas are market made so if you buy in the U.S. then probably no warranty in Canada as considered " Grey Market " then.

Good luck on your choices.
