It doesn't matter how fancy your flagpole is or how much money you spent on your flag, it is the thought that counts.

I only have a cheap little flag but I post it prominently where the most people will see it as thanks to all those who serve or have served.

I have what I have because you did what you did. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes... looks like a battle flag from a south pacific island from WWII... needs to be replaced.

You know Boy Scouts can retire worn or damaged flags? They are one of only a couple organizations tasked to do that.

I can tell you, it can be tasking some times to get a group of 11-18 year olds to quiet down and pay attention. But, when our Troop does flag retirements, those boys are silent, respectful, and take it very seriously. I have seen simple to more elaborate flag retirements; those boys are 100% serious about it. It is, really moving to partake in.

No. It's raining. :(

I had it out most of the weekend, though. I bring it in at night.

When we got married, a friend gave us an American flag kit to mount on the side of the house. It was a GREAT gift!

Now, anytime someone gets married, that's what we get the newlyweds. :)

I fly mine every day.
Our scouts retired a lot of them this spring at a campout, it's a very serious and touching ceremony.

Every day, one son Air Force, one Army.
Today, half staff until noon, in honor of those who gave all for our country.
Under the flag we fly three service streamers, Air Force, Army and Navy (daughter served four years).
God Bless America.
