Makes sense to me.
I think we'll look back in twenty years at the manual state of vehicle operation and be amused. A trip to the corner store will likely have a driver at the helm, with collision avoidance help, but a driver on I40 needing to put 600 miles a day behind him will likely be napping or watching a movie.
