Mark, don't give me credit for these tough questions, I'm just passing them along. I wasn't sure if this was even OK to post here. The whole time I read them the only thing I could think of was some witch like lady scowling at me ready to throw me out. It was scary!

I am a race fan and I would like to protest your answer. Yes you can overtake the last place position. The leader (1st place position) can over take the last place position and it puts the last place driver one lap down. I guess I was correct on a NASCAR technicality.
