After my last rate increase, I called my independent agent. He says all companies rates are going up and even we who have no claims and are long time clients are paying for the insurance company's losses due to catastrophic events of other. e.g. superstorm Sandy, hurricane Katrina, Joplin tornado. etc. Some will say it isn't fair for us that don't live in harm's way to have to pay for those who chose to, but the companies set the rates and they can buy all the big business politicians they need to protect themselves and their shareholders. What are you gonna do? :confused3: I shopped a couple of other companies and found what I had was the better/cheaper so am staying where I am.
