Hello I guess I'm the New guy. I wanted a late forties John Deere but got a 53 Case free for painting a house. Raised in Michigan on a John Deere 1040 and a 110. We also had John Deere Snowmobiles, the first to have radiator under the seat 1972. Well times have changed I'm no longer a 13 year old kid and I don't live on 1600 acres. I live in Taylor Arizona. This was a volcanic area. I couldn't possibly plow my half acre, my house takes up half and I've surrendered the other half to the boulders. I am however happy to own this old beast. And it was a beast in it's day I am sure. Just as when we grow older our parts, if we need to replace one, costs an "Arm and a leg" pardon the pun, I am sure this old dog will eat me out of house and home. I already went through the boat stage...Break Out Another Thousand....Now here I am with a tractor I don't need.....I do however at my late stage of life 57 have two young boys Nicholas 11 and Joseph 13. This is to be Joseph's tractor. There is only one problem it pumps hydraulic fluid out onto the ground as fast as I can pour it in. My friend Tony couldn't bear to shoot the old thing and bury it.....so he passed it on to me. So I guess Ill have to put on my life jacket and swimming trunks . It is obvious I'm about to take another bath and break out another thousand. Gene Heatwole or Hutwohl58.
