hello, i am new to sight, i picked up a small back hoe i want to rebuild it an put it on my 30hp tractor,, my question is where do i make the hyd. hookup? i have a frunt end loader but need the rear hook up. is it something i can buy an install myself?

Post the type of tractor you have, and someone might suggest a kit. If your FEL valve has a Power Beyond port, you can gather all the parts and do it yourself. Just add another valve on the back to serve all the task you might have to do. A detent valve would be useful for the BH.

I suggest using the search function and do some reading on 'power beyond' circuits. Definitely something a handy person can plumb themselves. Many, many members here have done the same.

I'll assume the TC30 has a New Holland loader. If not, a similar arrangement is possible. Remove the power beyond tube leading FROM the loader valve's PB port to the hydraulic diverter block. Install a hose with at least a 3/8" coupler pair where the tube was to allow the 3pt hitch to function when the hoe is dismounted. Typically the male tip is connected to the diverter block because it is easier to keep clean when exposed than the female half. Connect the IN port of the backhoe valve to the half of the newly installed hose leading from the loader valve's PB port. Remove the 3/8" pipe plug from the cover plate on the tractor's 3pt hitch valve and using an elbow and other required fittings, install a 1/2" male coupler tip to the cover. Use the female half of the 1/2" coupler on the end of a hose leading from the backhoe valve's OUT port. This provides an unrestricted return and disables the 3PT hitch, which is not needed when the hoe is installed. Using different size coupler pairs aids in return flow and prevents incorrect connections. Be sure to have the new power beyond hose connected to the diverter block, or to the hoe valve with the return connected whenever the tractor is to be started. No additional valve is needed for this installation.

Thanks for the quick reply's. I am going to the dealer an get the necessary stuff. I gess Ill be ok. I am not sure which hose on the backhoe is the return line. I know it makes a difference. So that's my next question.

Look on your valve, it may have letters for the purpose. P-pressure T=tank/return, , PB=Power Beyond. In , Out,

JJ, question? frist tks for the replies. second You have alot of postes here. that said i saw a pic of a burnt out small backhoe. i think. problem is i cant rember where i saw it here on this sight. can you help?

I'd be leary of a backhoe that doesn't fit right on these tractors as they have some expensive chassis issues. That is even with the factory backhoes installed at the dealers. There are plenty of threads about this chassis on here although there are none running on the front page. Do a little more research before you go to far or get too excited!
