Asian Beetles plague.... H E L P !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those obnoxious biting, swarming, stinking beetles are back! They bite hard and then spray you just for spite when you slap at them. There's milliions of them! HOW DOES ONE REPEL THEM????????????? is there a home remedy to keep them at arms length, away from doors and windows? I've tried NEEM instecticide, lysol, mosquito repellent, nothing seems to dissuade them.

I used Ortho Home Defense last year, and had fewer by a lot relative to the year before. I sprayed the house siding, and where they seemed to want to land and crawl.

Possibly it was just a low-number year, and it didn't make any difference. But until I know better, I'll use it again. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It works great for spiders, daddy-long-legs, and asian beetles that 'walk' across the spray. Claims are its good for 3 months.

Not a thing you can do about it. I know I've tried. This weekend is our annual swarm weekend, and the farmer around me is harvesting his soybeans and that chases them all out of the field and directly towards my house.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will offer a cash reward to anyone that can provide a proven method of controlling these pests.

Like Dave said they come out of the soybean fields when they harvest the beans. They feed on the aphids that attack the beans, then when the farmer comes through with his combine, they scoot for cover. 2 years ago we were surrounded by bean fields and we were almost knee deep in them, this year we are surrounded again and the beans are almost ready to harvest and I can hardly wait to see what happens. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

According to what I read a couple of years ago, they like to winter in trees (we have 18 acres of woods), but I still vaccumed up several bazillion of them inside our screened in back porch. They have the ability to go places you wouldn't think they could make it through.

About three years ago they were really thick here. Plugged up the heat exchanger in a neighbors house. But the last two years they haven't been bad, but there is a few around just enough to bite you good.
