I ran across this unfortunate incident NASD: Farmer Died When Tractor Overturns to Side While on A Hill and one of the suggestions was to carry some form of communication device in case of an emergency. Seems the farmer broke his own rule in an attempt to get back to the house. They suspect he was having a medical emergency. If he could have called his wife, maybe he would have kept put, waited for help to arrive and not put himself in a situation he most likely new was dangerous.

Sad story indeed...A friend of mine put his B7100 on its side years ago...No ROPS...The doctor told him "you were lucky, rarely does the driver show up alive after one of these"...This article indicates maybe the operator didn't have his wits about him when things went wrong...Drive/operate safe!

Mike, a buddie of mine and I were siding a house in a farm neighborhood when a guy ran up looking for a phone. He came looking for his son in the field at lunchtime because he hadn't gotten back. Turned out his son tried to 'help' a bailer that was stuck. We got down in the field and the poor dudes arm was stretched way back where it shouldn't be. He'd been stuck there for a while. I looked under the machine and asked him a couple questions but didn't know what to do... Soon smarter people showed up and gave him a drink, but it was another hour before a guy from Wantage Excavating started taking the big bolts off. He had the wrenches and as I recall, didn't say two words. 50 idiots and I were there by then, but the only guy that did anything was the man with the wrenches. I remember everybody talking about torches... saw another jerk trying to get everyone to cut the battery cables on the tractor... like the kid didn't have enough new problems...
a radio would have helped, but somebody's got to be on both ends.
I hear the guy got married and is alright.
