Bought used ASV with Fecon mulched to use on farm having major trouble plugging in the mulcher hoses into the ASV couplers. Is there some way to relieve the pressure. My bobcat couplers are not this hard. Can someone help me before I re auction this machine. Just one of several this I don't like. I messes up but Ive got to make the best of it. Thanks

1st there's a little button on top of the Hydraulic Quick connect Block thats the release just hold it down for a few seconds and it will relive the pressure. 2nd couplers wear out if the unit has 1000 or more hours on it and has been running brush mowing equipment it's likely the coupler are worn or worn out.

Bigtalker, what model ASV do you have?

How do couplers wear out that makes them get harder to connect?

Mulching is one of the Toughest things to do to a skid steer or CTL. The hoses are heavy and the continual movement of the head to cut causes pressure on the couplers and they wear out. They can be replaced with a high quality coupler that Screws together and will last a little longer but the cost is twice the cost of OEM couplers and typically is not worth it. We run 2-3 PT100G Forestry machines with Fecon heads in our rental fleet and typically get 500-600 hours out of couplers but they typically get more abuse than the machines owned by owner operators.

500-600 hours would be terrific. We replace either the machine side or the attachment side on our T320 mulcher about every 150-200 hours. They don't "wear out" just blow the internal o-rings. After that they make good hydraulic sprinklers. Maybe we push it too hard. Strongly considering doing away with the quick couplers and putting hard screw together fittings on there. We would probably get more flow that way as well.

But it doesn't make them hard to connect/disconnect.

How about just eliminate the quik couplers alltogether and just screw the hoses to the lines,it'll improve oil flow for sure

Doesn't work well on our rental units customers want to do more than just mulch usually. We use a higher quality quick coupler than the OEM on our machines and also sell to our customers. We also stock the screw together style if you PM me i can get you pricing.

I have 5 couplers needing new O rings. Seems like a waste of good metal & machining to toss them out.

Anyone know a place that refurbishes couplers?
