I have salvaged (from a dumping flatbed) a pump w/valve built into its own tank...Direct Mount Pumps and a compatible cylinder...
This pump can be powered by PTO, or a gas or electric motor...I intend to make a dumping trailer so I will be using either gas or electric power of which I already have both options...there are pros and cons for both but that is not what this is about...
The thing about this system is...it uses ATF fluid (as per manufacturer)...I was thinking it might be handy to be able to use this pump for something other than just the dump trailer..i.e., a wood splitter...my dilemma is if I make a splitter to quick connect to the trailer system because of the fluid I can't connect it to my tractors remotes...
I suppose one option is having a second cylinder and hoses...one for the trailer system and one for the tractor to run the splitter...?
This pump only puts out 1.8 GPM so it is very limited to what it can be used for...anyone have any feedback or suggestions...I'm just looking to get the most out of what I have.
