Done. That grapple really has your click finger moving, doesn't it! Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I had an ATI bucket grapple on my old Ford 1700, then on my JD 4210. I sold it so I could buy a Millonzi grapple. This should tell you something. The ATI grapple is almost useless for brush, etc, unless you have forks on your bucket. Ok for rocks, stumps, etc. Go with the Millonzi, you'll be glad you did.

I have many piles of brush, logs, branches, deadfall, etc to clean up and i am just wondering if something like this would be worth $1600 (installed) to you if you had similar work to do.

I have the ATI grapple #4866 although I paid about half (installed) what you were quoted 2.5 yrs ago. I have a toothbar on my bucket and the combo works fine for picking up cut brush. It should handle what you are wanting it for just fine.

Where's your property located? Mine's over on the Key Penninsula, kind of in the middle, west of Home. I've got a 5 acre lot that's probably 3.5 acres of silal, huckleberry in the shady parts, blackberries in the sunny parts and fallen trees scattered here and there. I was thinking like you at first, but now I see that my main use is going to be pulling brush out of the ground and moving logs, I'm thinking plain old grapple is the way to go. Even though you could get a grip on a log with a bucket grapple, a root grapple would work better. The log would be closer in for one thing. That's gotta be better than farther out. The bucket would pick up a lot of dirt too-which shouldn't be a big surprise since that's what they're made for  I was thinking 48" was big enough too since it could be a little tight out in the woods. If you want, I can send you the links I've collected so far.

mike - would be great to see what you've collected. i'm just north of hwy 2, 40 miles west of stevens pass (gold bar area). i have 6 acres, 3 of which is cleared, the remaining 3 acres is blackberries (erradicated most of them already), deadfall and standing of standard variety - alder, cedar, and fir. i'm clearing out 90% of the alder and taking out a few of the older ragged firs will need to move many logs (6'-8' lengths) so i can add more pasture. i also have a large juniper spruce hedge of several hundred sq ft i plan to remove. the grapple would work perfectly for transporting large sections to the compost/burn pile. after doing more reading i am now also thinking plain old grapple would be best.

the problem i have is that my FEL is not a quick-attach type so to add a true grapple would either need to convert to QA with adapter or find grapple made to fit a pin attachment for my loader. i'm guessing pin size is not standard so it might have to be custom made which will push up the price.

i should mention the price i was quoted also includes the diverter kit (installed).

I might add that since I was getting the QA adapter I also got a 66" HD bucket rather than the standard 72". Makes maneuvering the tractor just a little bit easier. The ATI grapple could be fitted to a 72" bucket in spite of their statement that it is meant for 48-66" buckets.

I have a Tatro bucket grapple ($400) and a WR Long loader valve kit ($600) that I use all spring, summer and fall moving trees, logs and rocks.

I love this implement and have found many uses for it. For $1000 it was a good investment for me
