I've got a Toro Zmaster, the darn plastic knob that goes on the end of the throttle lever keeps coming off. Is there any kind of adhesive I could use to get this thing to stay on? The throttle lever is flat, and fits into a slot on the bottom of the plastic knob. It fits fairly tight but still won't stay on. The throttle lever really digs into my hand if I don't have the knob on there.

Devcon makes some nice epoxies. We have used then in industrial applications for decades and they do work.

Some may laugh but Shoe Goo works good or use Gorilla Glue. If you do use GG with water as it says don't expect to ever take it off. Of course the epoxy will work like WP said.

I had the same issue on my new tractor. I wrapped a small piece of double sided duct tape around the lever and slid the knob over it. Seems to be working ok so far, and I know I can get the knob off if I need to.

I have a couple of those pesty 'slip on' knobs.
Notice that they have teeth or barbs on the shafts that they count on to grab on the plastic slip on part.
I make sure that the teeth are relatively sharp and using my hot glue gun, I fill the knob recess with glue and quickly press it onto the barbed shaft.
Don't try to remove that knob after that treatment.

Couldn't you just drill a hole through the knob and lever and tap the lever with a 8-32 tap? Then a screw should hold the knob on and removal would be easy.

Drill and tap would prove tricky as you can not see thru the plastic in order to hit that narrow metal shaft dead on.
Now with hard plastic it works as you are able to tap the plastic and pinch the shaft.
Tried everything and the glue works best.

Called the dealer, he said these knobs have a narrowed spot in the slot that is supposed to get crushed/grabbed by the teeth on metal shaft. He said a new one will grab much better but once they come off you have to try something else. So I'm going to get a new knob because they're only a few bucks. I also thought about through drilling and using a rollpin. That would allow me to drill the knob in a press and get a straight hole, then push it on the shaft and mark the location, pull the knob and drill shaft. Lot of work for a goofy little knob.
