I thought drilling into ROPS is a BIG no no. Is it ok now?
Drilling, welding, etc. voids the ROPS liability for the manufacturer. Will a small hole weaken the ROPS - no. Is the manufacturer off the hook for liability should you get injured? Absolutely.
Also, if you modify your ROPS, you can become liable if you sell it to someone and they get injured (seems like a stretch but people have sued over dumber things), or if you trade it to a dealership, they will likely reduce the trade value as they will have to install a new OEM ROPS. All purely due to liability.
Gordon Gould - I'm very surprised a dealer drilled into the ROPS... That could open a can of worms for them.
