Ok, so I finally have this gorgeous L4310HST FEL sitting here and want to start putting it to work. I've read allot of old posts here - done searches- and they do help - but I am just getting myself all worked up to a point where I'm all wound up. FWIW - the unit has turf tires, not ballasted (is that a word?), and double rear hydraulics.
Backround - I have @14acres in rocky New England- some is wet, "mucky" forest with some standing water. the rest is forested and thicket. I want to neaten up the forest, possibly check out tree farm program - decide if let conifers take over or let the diciduous take over. bring in some path/road trails. possibly put in some corals/pasture (wife was a horse kid and have a young daughter etc.) not sure what to do.
anyway - thinking I want a nice heavy duty rear blade with end cutters and the bottom plates mentioned (forgot proper name). since I have hydraulics I thought there maybe a feature I should add to make use of their existence.
Also was thinking a heavier duty brush cutter may also be a good item to get early too.
Guess I'm looking for feedback on anything but definately on the blade and cutter sizing, brands and how to configure for using the hydraulics - if a good idea that is.
thought these first and then maybe post hole, 4 in 1, and other cost effective items as I can get $$.
Also want to thank emensley those that have added the comments about subsoilers and mid busters - I have tried to find one yet - but it will help me tons. I was all worried about how to afford a backhoe to lay in electric , water, irrigation etc. I learn every time I get to read. Sorry I am so long winded - bad habit.
