Attachment Sticker Shock

I just bought on 2006 GC2310TLB on ebay a couple of weeks ago with 103 hrs on it. It was posted for a several weeks and the dealer kept dropping the buy it now price by $500 increments each week it didn't sell. I ended up buying it for $12,500, which I thought was a pretty good price.

Now, I had been searching for a tractor for some time before purchasing this one. I really wanted to find a used tractor with a front mount snowblower, but that's like finding a needle in a haystack, at least for some of the features I wanted in a tractor. Well, the backhoe is a nice to have implement, it wasn't a major criteria point for buying a tractor. I'm glad I have the backhoe, but I'm really focusing on finding a snowblower.

What are the odd's I'm going to find a front mount snowblower for this model other then the dealership? I think the price is ~$3,000 new. OUCH! I new the price of the blower before buying the tractor, but I can't believe how hard it is to try to locate a used one on the net.

Anyone have any alternatives for a front mount other then the MF model? I would ask where you can get a good deal on a used MF model, but I assume one of you would snatch it up if it was a good deal.

I did get the blower three years ago when I bought the tractor, and it was about $2500 then. Just for grins, when I'm poking around E-bay or similar sites, I look to see if anyone's selling suitably-sized implements for the 2300. I also check my local newspapers & "pennysavers". I don't know that I've ever seen a front-mount blower for sale outside a dealer. Doesn't mean they don't exist, I just haven't seen them.

As for the alternative, I know there's a few folks on here with the front blade. If you check the archives using the "search" function, you should be able to find their posts. I don't know where you're located but for the lake-effect snows (which we're having as I type), especially with a good solid base and favorable wind direction and no neighbors in the way, the blower is a life-saver!

If looking for a used blower, be aware a "quick attach" mount and a drive kit are also required. I assume these were included in the quoted $3,000. The mount / drive kit also let you use the power broom and snow blade.

I have the MF snowblower and am extremely happy with it. I did however run across this outfit that appears to have them but I have no idea on price (or quality):

Hello,
I have MF 1445 with a Erskine 78" front mount snowblower. Its a very heavy and well built unit. It came with tractor when I bought it. I do not use it since I have a gravel driveway and I plow with my truck.

think I remember that unit on e-bay. A dealer in MA had one for sale that fits that description. It is actually the reason I started looking at Massey Ferguson.

Anyway, I bought a new GC2310TLB and am also in a sticker shock from the price of the implements. I was quoted $3500.00 for the snow thrower that included the $600.00 Quick Hitch that can also be used with the front plow and broom. I may look into an alternative when the time comes. The Massey Ferguson snow thrower looks exactly like my old Kubota snow thrower that I think was a number 2650. If you can find one of those for a good price, maybe it can be adapted to be used on the Massey. The only problem may be that the mid mount PTO speed is slower on the Massey (2000 rpm) than the Kubota (2500 rpm) so the gearing on the Kubota thrower may be a bit different. But, may be worth a shot if the price is right.
