ATV accesories you didn\'t know existed

I was looking through a "Progressive Farmer" magazine this afternoon and read an article about turning your ATV into a workhorse. Since the TBN rules state that I can't paste a picture from someone elses website I will have to provide the link instead.

ATV Loader

I was reminded of the discussion about a slip scoop for the RTV when I saw this one.

That was my thought exactly! I figure they should change the name from "Groundhog" to "Six Feet Under." /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif And I also agree they will sell a bunch of them. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Brent my neighbors have a Westendorf Low lift bucket/slip scoop for his atv. It works good for his yard and flower bed work. Its a sub frame kit and the winch lifts up the implements. He just bought the scoop and later if he needs the blaed or pallet lift Ill help him build one. It lifts about a foot maybe a foot and a half then it has a trip bucket. Its got some little barstaock square teeth but he usually takes a mini tiller and tills the area he wants to excavate then he repeats till hes at the sesired weight. Some times with a full buckey you have to let it down to trip it. I've rigged him up a pulley system for it to make it easier but we havent had any time to mount it.
As for the backhoe attachment Beaverpro makes one that is a front mount and has a backfill blade mounted under it that is the stabilizer to. They also make a rear mount grader.
There is also a trail builders site I cant think of the address now but they make a bottom dump gravel trailer and a ride on tow behind trail grader that has worm boxes like and old pull type grader to grade trails with.

Re: ATV accesories you didn\'t know existed

I had a buddy bring over his three wheeled gas powered "backhoe" that would also mount on an ATV to help me dig a footer for a brick wall. It didn't take long to figure that I could dig much faster by hand than he could with his "backhoe". After trying to prove me wrong for about an hour or two, he reluctantly pushed it aside and helped me finish by hand. He put it on eBay and sold it the next weekend.
Moral of the story: I could build a D9 dozer with balsa wood; it doesn't mean that it would work. Keep that in mind with some of these accessories for ATV's.

Dargo I very much agree with you my neighbor's sone was trying to push back some woods from the edge of his yard with their atv scoop. I told him the transmission would last long like that and that I could doo the jo with my Ford TLB or my Komatsu excavator alot faster. He wanted to start a land scaping company with his scoop attachment. I can fill the bucket of his scoop 3 times over with one of my excavator and about 2 times with one of my TLB.
The backhoe your friend had did it trail behind his ATV or mont to the front. the Beaverpro mounted to the front and had a honda motor on the back. I used a similar atv mounted backhoe at a show set up in another town. it was bundlesome to operate I gues it could be hand to a homeowner by replacing a shovel. They didnt like my opinion of it hard to see over the fron of the atv flimsy it was sout but the forces it exerted on the atv wer emmense. I could feel it flexin it and the bouncing was uncomfortable. The motor on the tail also made manuvering limited to flater ground. It akso was hard to manuver with the solid rear axle.

I received a Farnam equine catalogue about 2 weeks ago that had the groundog listed in it... to say the least it really surprised me. To each his own.... but I would just buy a small CUT.
