Auction this Saturday!!! What should I pay?...if anything

I went to the local spring consignment auction a couple of weeks ago. It was just as crazy as ever. A set of QA forks in fair condition went for $700. There were no bargains and many items, like the forks, went for WAY above market value. Told a friend who I saw there that I didn't know why I bother to attend anymore. His replied was "I come for the entertainment."

Guess I'll need to adopt the same attitude.
