We just had ours on racks with lengths of pipe to set them over so they pointed up. Of course, they were stored outside as we had 2 ss augers and 5 two man Groundhogs, so there were quite a few auger bits around. Storing them that way they didn't fill up with water and it was easy to see if any needed teeth replaced, or other repairs. The last probably isn't important unless you have crews that are, shall we say, lax about reporting problems.
