Some 4WD UTVs are claimed to switch automatically into 4WD or AWD versus the operator selecting either 2WD or 4WD. In the case of AWD, as claimed by Polaris for their Ranger, I don't know if theirs is any different from 4WD. To me, AWD means either individual wheel motors or three differentials, one on each axle and one front to rear.
I am looking at the RTV500 (or possibly the RTV400ci if the vibration issue is addressed) and the Mule 610. I might also consider the Ranger EV despite the higher price, since hauling gas then becomes a non-issue, but I'm leery of the automatic 4WD/AWD. I much to prefer to shift for myself, thank you.
If you have experience with an automatic 4WD/AWD UTV, how does/did it work for you? Did you like it? Hate it? Pros and cons? Would you go that route again?
Thanks,
Misfire
