I bought a 1025R and added the extra light that mount on top of the hazard lights and the rear work light kit. The dealer says that it will blow the fuse or possibly over heat the wire in the harness. It all plugged into the existing harness like it was meant to be on the tractor. It seems to work fine, but I am afraid to use it much because of what the dealer said. I also read in the sales literature that the two light kits(forward lights and rear light) were not compatible with each other at the same time. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Will it work or will it blow the fuse or melt something?

on my 2320 I had the front work light kit and the rear work light kit and just wired the front to a switch and the rear set to another switch....never had a problem with the factory wiring or fuses.......

Although engineers make mistakes, I trust the engineers and designers of your tractor more than the dealer, especially if it's a salesman when it comes to your concerns.

neep...use it and don't look back. Like mcgill72143, we had the exact same set up on our 2320 and now on our 2520. We used the existing wiring using a splitter and switches. The concern is (depending on amount of time being used) if the altenator can keep up as it is rated at 20 amps. I have had this setup for over 3 years and have not had any issues with either the 2320 or 2520.

If it was mine.......which it is not and I intended to use the rear and front lights a lot and have them on for a prolonged length of time, I would place each set of lights on it's on relay. The relay would catch and carry any heat generated. The heat being generated in the wiring by the AMP's to illuminate the lights could be what caused the dealer to voice concern. Lights pull a lots of AMP's and generate a lot of heat in a wiring harness.

If it were me, and as Gator says, it is not, I would go with the new LED lights and not have to worry about the amperage draw.

I'm curious about how the mounting of the aux lights will go on the 1025r as they have a new lighting setup with individual modules, is there also a new larger protection bar for the 1025r to mount the Aux on?

I have a 4520 and it is the same kit. It has the protection guard and the forward lights mount to it. and the rear light mounts to the rops in the same position as the 4520.
