Availability Limited to Dealer Inventory

I was looking up some pricing info today at Deere.com and when you go to build many of the 4x10s you see The above message all over. .

Looking through there it seems the 9/3 SyncShift and 2 Wheel Drive are no longer available. This is exactly what I expected to see happen.

You can't build 2wd models anymore from the 4210 up to the 4610...
Transmission choices are:

<ul type="square">
[*]4210 eHydro
[*]4310 12/12 ePowrReverser or eHydro
[*]4410 12/12 ePowrReverser or eHydro
[*]4510 12/12 PowrReverser
[*]4610 12/12 PowrReverser or eHydro
[*]4710 12/12 PowrReverser or eHydro
[/list]

I wonder how many 2 wheel drives they actually sold as a percentage of overall sales... To me it was like buying a Blazer and getting it with 2wd... it just isn't right. I'm sure simplifying the line-up will save them $$, and really, it makes sense anyway.

As you probably know I had a sync shift 4300 and it was ok but it did shift hard for being a sync shift. It did not have a very positive feeling range and gear shift lever. Most of the time the range would get jammed even if I was in neutral because you should shift to nuetral before going into a new range. The 990 is a ton better in that respect. Ranges no longer get jammed. Also it is very hard for our dealership to sell any gear compact people now in days opt out for the hydro because of mowing and ease of use. We had a 4600 power reverser sit out for 2 years before being sold. I thought it was a very nice machine.

I was counting transmissions this afternoon at my Deere dealer when I picked my tractor up. There were 6 Power reversers and 2 Hydros. One of the hydros was a 2210 so it was automatically a hydro, the other was, I believe a 4610. I figured they would have more hydros but now that I think about it the other Deere dealer I shopped at had more Power Reversers than hydros.

When I had to drive a 9520T to another JD dealer in the area they had all 4010s hydros. Gear more popular and sell better in your area unless they have been sitting for awhile.
