Hey everyone, Im thinking of a new upgrade for my
B7500. I found an axial 12V fan that runs 250cfm and .053psi @50cfm.
The goal in putting this fan on the intake of my Kubota
B7500 is to negate the pressure drop over the air filters.
So, heres the question, does anyone know if that'll actually negate the filters pressure drop? Also, does anyone know of a 12v fan that'd put maybe 1 or 2 psi into the engine? If you do, would the fuel need to be adjusted so it doesnt run lean?
Thanks guys!

No, no, and no.
What you are proposing cannot work as the engine will only consume as much clean combustion air per revolution as its pressure gradient requires. If you have the dual element filter system you need to change the safety element every time you change air filters AND NO you cannot change the safety element occasionally it has to be changed every time you change the outer element.
If your worried about improving the engine performance change the dry air filter to an oil bath air cleaner with a cyclone pre-cleaner it will have much less resistance and the intake air for the engine will be fine.
What you are referring to is the resistance/pressure gradient created by the paper air cleaner elements paper medium used in the air filters on the intake cycle of the four cycle combustion process AND NO you cannot safely run the engine without the secondary paper safety element.
Just change the air filters more often if you do not invest in an oil bath air filter with a cyclone pre cleaner.
OH, and the engine air cleaner tattle tail restriction indicators lie like a rug because they can be plugged with dust and need to be washed with warm water and soap and left to dry.
The oil bath intake air pre-cleaner is a very safe very efficient way to clean intake air for internal combustion engines as well as rotary lobe and vane type blowers.
They are designed to allow full flow of intake air for combustion and can be equipped with pre-cleaners to remove the heavier dust/chaff before it enters the filter housing.
Oil bath air cleaners were used for internal conbustion engines for many years to clean the intake air of gas and diesel engines for many years before they came up with the crazy waste of money called paper air filters as in faster cheaper easier-paper elements are not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are much easier to deal with and service I can tell you this with 40 years of dealing with them in industrial diesel engine use and in farm equipment as they do not work well even with intake air pre cleaners as they pose an automatic restriction to the intake air needed for proper combustion.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!, you cannot safely wash and reuse paper filters or blow them out to use them again as the filter paper weakens from both age and heat.
Here is a video about oil bath air cleaners; all you need to do is add the y.
