Axle fluid leak?

   / Axle fluid leak? #11
I did mine this spring. Piece of cake. I did mine in a couple of hours. The hardest part is figuring how to get it apart. It turns out that once you release the top bolts it comes right apart. It's dirty work so a parts cleaner comes in handy. But it's very low risk, technically. If you've ever dealt with automotive bearings and seals your good to go. GET A PARTS MANUAL!

If it's leaked any water, I'd be prepared to replace a bearing too. My bottom bearing was pitted. I think they dug another 45 bucks out of my pocket for that.

I used a seal puller and popped the old seal right out. I installed the new one with the old bearing race.

The seal is slightly different than the OEM. The docs provided with the part are clear about that.
