Kubota B7800
Hello all,
I poasted the same question in the general forum before I realized there is a special Kubota place to ask.
I'm very much new to the forum (as you can tell) and would welcome your help.
I have been looking at a B7510 HSD at a dealership. The unit was made in '04 and would come with a 60" mower RCK60-24B. It has 75hrs, turf tires (4 ply I know it is not the best) folding ROPS and in general it seems to be in very good shape. Judging by the lack of wear on the 3ph parts and the rear PTO shaft that portion never has been used. The dealer wants $8200 for it. I was also quoted $3000 for a new loader, Kubota LA-302 or Woods 1006 my choice.
Could you give me your opinion on the fairness of the price?
On the loaders I checked and the lift capacity is in the same neighberhood, but the Woods 1006 will lift about 12 inches higher according to their specs. Is there a reason I should not get the Woods instead of the Kubota loader?
Please help me out. I imagine it would void warranty if not using original loader, but there is no warrany to speak of in this case.
thanks

I would probally go with the woods just for the reach.The woods brand have a great reputation.That sounds like a good price on the tractor too. I would'nt take that for mine.

Local dealer retail pricing:
B7510HSD ---> 11765
LA302FL ---> 3481
RCK60-24B ---> 2682

11,200.00 for all the above sounds reasonable. I would still try to knock the price down, since there may not be any warranty on the tractor.

I know that last year dealers were selling new B7510HSD Turf Special with 302 loader for around 13,000. It came with the mentioned mower deck.

Good luck with your purchase.

Sounds like a good price. One thing about the loader though. Just my opinion, but the Kubota loader was designed for the 7510. If you put a loader with 12 inches higher lift on, you will be raising the center of gravity by that much as well. I know that I am very careful with my tractor whenever I lift a load to full height. If I am not on perfectly level ground I don't push my luck. An extra 12 inches could create additional instability that could be dangerous. Your application may be different though, so this may not apply to you. Just thought I'd comment....

Thank you for the opinions and helpful comments. I have given it much thought as far as safety goes with the loader, especially after talking to a friend who owns a 40+HP tractor and reading several threads here. According to some the Woods loader is built very well (the Kubota too I'm sure). The only reason I can think of the extra height as a plus, if I had to lift something that is way below the maximum capacity and is a larger item. I would have the option to get the bucket over it. That is all. I understand that loads must be carried as low as possible. I can't thank you enough for the input!!!

i just sold a b7510hst with la302 fel. the lift height was my biggest complaint. it was an issue i never considered. great tractor just too little height on the bucket.
i would use a rear finish mower. cheaper, easier to remove and replace and will work with any tractor.
