I've put together two sets of the photos Steve (odleefs) took of the B loaner he was using and his new C. The first set is the side views, the second set is the front views. One obvious difference I see on the side views is a connection to the boom that has to do with the bucket curl. The connection is on the outside of the boom on the B, but on the inside on the C.

I was hoping to get some opinions from the more mechanically savvy folk about the changes you see in the boom design between the B and C series.

The attached has the two side views. The front views follow.

Thanks,
Rolando

Hey Rolando!
I am sorry about the photos! It was a cold misty rain that Friday and I was not dressed appropriately as I had just gottten home with very little notice of my Toolcat arriving. I was dressed for work, not play! Anyhow, yesterday evening I took the attached photo of the upper section of the C boom which was missing from the original photos.
Hope this helps. Steve
PS the assisted leveling is nice! I picked up full scoops of gravel out of my quarry at 5 mph and then quickly lifted/auto leveled the bucket while accelerating to 10 mph without any fuss or mess. Out of necessity, I moved several buckets in this manner and it worked beautifully.

PSS Yes, these camera phones leave much to be desired!

Steve,
The pictures were fine. They gave me the information I needed, which was to see some of the differences between the B and C.

By the way, I visited my Toolcat today! It's still at the dealer getting things done. And luckily my dealer still had his B unit on the lot, so I was able to see first hand the differences. And man, the changes to the boom are substantial! In the old design the boom was one horizontal tube shape. The new layout is two tube shapes with the strong axis being vertical. Even to my untrained eye, it looks like a much more substantial setup.

I took some pictures myself that I'll post later tonight after I feed the dogs, I just got in from traveling today.

Rolando,
I agree, the front boom is much more substantial. The curling mechanism is different also. I didn't take any good photos of this but it looked differnt to me.
I look forward to the photos!
Steve
