Hi, maybe someone can save Kubota from my wrath--:fiery:
I drained my tractor's hydraulic fluid, changed the filter, and removed, cleaned and replaced the left hand side strainer. When I went to remove and clean the strainer on the right hand side it spun out smoothly and then the threads felt like they were tightening up really bad. I thought maybe someone put the strainer in and cross threaded it but upon visually inspecting the situation I found that the washer like piece that is attached to the 26mm bolt (all part of the strainer unit) was hitting the frame of the tractor. (See photo-- I added some thin lines to point to the problem areas). This washer like piece does not spin freely from the bolt so filing down a flat on it would not help it clear the frame. I thought of trying to grind down the frame so the strainer would have the necessary extra mm(s) of clearance and that is my working idea now. Unbolting the frame part makes me nervous because if it shifts slightly I would have bigger problems getting it back together than I am having now.
For a part that is supposed to cleaned as part of normal maintenance it really annoys me that Kubota would design like this. If this is such a hassle to get out I am thinking it has been neglected and that this strainer really should be pulled and cleaned. I've had no issues with the HST yet but would like to avoid any in the future by doing standard maintenance-- not have to grind parts or disassemble framework to accomplish it.
I love by B1750HST but am irked!
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.
