Has anyone adjusted (shimmed) the bi-speed turn clutch in a Kubota B1750HST.

Mine does not pull like it once did and I would like to adjust it. I do not have a manual for this tractor but know that it is adjusted by shimming the clutch fork actuation shaft.

It appears that it can be done from the outside by removing a small access cover on the right side of the bi-speed gearbox cover but I am not certain.

Any advice before I get into this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dean I'll go check my owners manual and see what it says...believe it or not I've never used the bi-speed turn. Hold on and give me about 45 minutes.

EDIT sorry SDT our owners manual just explains what it is and how to engage and disengage it. Only thing that might prove helpful is that book advises to keep front wheels straight when engaging.

I'll check the Work Shop Manual for my B2400 ( it has Bi-Speed) and see if there is any information reguarding this. I've had the Bi-Speed apart on mine twice but have never looked at adjusting the clutch pack. I did notice that the sliding collar which has the engagement dogs on it, had some wear and have had the 4wd make a "ratcheting sound" and not pull properly. As soon as I disengaged the BST, 4wd worked fine. This happened while moving snow with the endloader and to Kubota's defense, the manual says not to use during FEL work!

Thanks, guys, for your replies.

I've had this tractor since new and it has never had a FEL. It has only 330 hours and has been properly maintained.

The bi-speed does work but it is noticably weaker than when new. Everything else works as it should.

I have the owner's manual and know how the bi-speed works. I do not have a service manual nor does my dealer. He has a service manual for a 1700/2100, which I have copies of, but I'm not certain that it is the same. The 1700 bi-speed clutch is adjusted with shims but the manual does not indicate if (as it appears) the shims can be replaced by removing the 4 bolt cover on the right side of the bi-speed gearbox or if the gearbox must be removed.

Ideally, I would like to find a copy of the B1750HST service manual but so far I have not been able to.

In any event, I will find out one way or the other when I get into it over the winter.
