Hello, while using my B20 yesterday the power steering and loader suddenly stopped working. The 3pt works fine, as does the transmission. The only warning sign I had was for about 2 minutes before it all stopped the steering didn't feel as strong and the loader was a little slower, not much though. I just had the power steering rebuilt and changed the hyd. oil and filters. When it first stopped, the loader would raise a few inches, but will do nothing now. I cracked the pressure line from the front pump and it sprayed like crazy, so I am assuming the pump is working, and the directional valve is set to the correct position as well. Any ideas as to what is causing this will be greatly appreciated.

I have a B20 as well. Keep cycling the loader through it's paces. It my be air trapped in the system. Mine behaved the same way when I changes the fluids.

I appreciate the advice. Every once in a while the loader will move just a little. It sounds almost like a valve is stuck or something, but I guess it could be air bound somewhere. I will try it some more.

Does the B20 have a filter screen as well as a hydro filter? I am wondering if the screen got clogged. Although I would think that would affect all of the hydraulics. As well a cycling the loader turn the steering wheel from stop to stop several time to bleed the power steering.

First you are lucky you were not injured from the oil pressure-the gimbals controlling the loader are most likely sticking, clean the top of them with some WD-40 or alcohol and it will free them up.

when you had the power steering rebuilt-what was done? It sounds as if a relief valve is stuck open.

when cleaning the top of the loader valve assembly move the valve when the tractor engine is off and the pressure is gone.

Thank you all for the replies. The top of the steering shaft had a groove worn in it where the oil seal sat and it was pouring oil out. The shaft was built up and turned back down by a machine shop and I bought all new seals, o-rings, washers, pretty much the whole nine yards so to speak.

Everything worked fine for a couple of hours, and quit all of a sudden. I plugged the lines to the loader, hoping maybe by doing that and turning the directional valve if the problem was with the loader the power steering would work but no luck. . I am trying to find adapters to hook into the line from the pump to see what pressure I have and go from there. I don't have the service manual for the tractor yet, I am guessing 2000 lbs for so would be ok?
