I just had my B20 serviced as it was not starting all the time and really didn't like the cold weather. I replaced the battery and had a local mechanic look it over and as I suspected, the solenoid on the starter was going. So he replaced that and also replaced some wiring to the alternator as there was some bare wire I could see through the insulation. When I picked it up yesterday, the blower would not lift. The only way to get it to work was to disengage the metal rod in the picture and use our fingers to activate the mechanism/lever that triggers the arms to lift. Once we did this, we reattached the rod and all was good, it could go up and down. After getting back home and clearing my driveway I put the tractor into the garage and this morning went out to start it. It started fine but the same problem is occurring. I fixed it again by doing the same as yesterday. Any ideas why the arms are not lifting when I move the lever? If I move the lever to the down position, the blower will drop but if I move it the up position, nada.
Change image to show exactly what I am referring to as I do not know the names of everything. The yellow circle shows the pin I remove to disengage the metal rod and the red circle shows the lever that I can move with my fingers to get the blower to raise.
Tks.
