B2400 Blows Smoke When Starting Implements

I have a B2400 that is great. Always starts, runs well, easily pulls the FL1271 tiller but when starting the mower or the tiller for example it blows a little black smoke and then it's on it's way.

Any insight on the cause and should I be concerned? I've noticed it maybe 100 hours ago or so, has 1680 at this point in time. I don't notice any loss of power, it still pulls the tiller as it ever did, even when all the way down.

Hmmm Sounds like a diesel I would not worry.:thumbsup:

totally normal.

you have the engine set a certain speed, load is applied, governor is trying to maintain set speed, allows a little more fuel, then it is leaned out a bit as speed picks up. ( black smoke is unburned fuel )

My B2400 does the same thing, 1205hrs

Yep, normal for all of mine; amount depends on the load.

Wow, that's awesome. Thank you all, that is good to know. I knew the black smoke was not oil so I wasn't real concerned at first, but it's up there in hours and didn't want to do damage. I love that **** tractor. You're sharing of your experience and knowledge is greatly appreciated.:thumbsup:

Yes, it is normal and not an issue unless it
has been a long time since you changed
the inner and outer air filters.
