Hi All,

I just bought a used B2400 with FEL, belly mower, and box blade. Sweet little tractor so far.

I can't figure out how to pin the belly mower so that it doesn't lower with the 3 point. Dealer I bought it from (New Holland, it was a trade-in) didn't know either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer not to remove the belly mower to use the box blade as I plan on mowing with the tractor.

Thanks in advance,

I have a BX 2350 and on that you set your mower height control knob on "top" after you have raised the mowing deck all the way up. That should lock it up and allow you to use the 3 point hitch w/o the deck moving.

-rOb-, if you have an RC60-24B mower deck, there are two brackets on the top of the deck just behind the front anti-scalp roller. There should also be a bracket just ahead of the rear roller wheels which has 2 clevis pins. Take the pins out of the rear bracket, then raise the deck up fully. The brackets on the front of the deck should line up with extensions on the front bracket hanging from the tractor. Put a pin in each bracket and clip it in place with the hair pin that came with the clevis pin. You may have to wiggle the deck just a bit to get everything to line up perfectly.

When using the tractor for other chores and having the deck pinned up, make sure you remember that the deck is wider than the tractor and that your ground clearance is not nearly as good as it is when you have the deck removed (don't go through narrow doors and don't get caught in soft ground when doing loader work).

Based on my experiencee, it is almost easier to take the deck off when doing other chores just so that you don't forget the deck is there and let it get in your way. Only a few minutes to take it of and a few minutes to put it back on.

Thanks. I do not have the "TOP" setting (at least that I can find anywhere) per Metalchip's comments.

I'll look at the deck again for those brackets. I see two brackets near the rear with clevis pins. It doesn't look like the deck would lift if I pulled them out, but I'll try it.

I'm traveling for work and won't be back until Friday. Will let you know. Thanks much!

Btw, it doesn't look like the deck comes off in a "few minutes." Looks rather involved. Maybe there is a science to it?

Tell us which deck model you have, that will help us figure out what is the easiset way for you to take the mower deck off. Do you have the manuals for the mower deck, tractor and loader? If you have the mower deck model listed above, it really is easy to remove and reinstall.

Don't confuse the pins that hold the deck to the lifting arms with the 2 spare pins stored in a bracket on the rear of the deck (the only purpose of the bracket is to store the pins used to pin up the front of the mower deck when fully lifted).

If your deck is an RCK60-24B, deck comes off in about 2 minutes as long as you have an FEL. DO NOT drive over the deck! I had to weld a number of cracks from the previous owner driving over to install it that way!!

Guys,

It is a RCK60-24B. I was able to pull it off the tractor quite easily using the front end loader to lift up the front wheels.

I never could figure out how to pin it up though. I see the two front holes, and I see the holders for the rear bars. I don't find anything to clip the rear of the deck to however.

Where is the best place to buy Kubota parts online? My deck needs some parts. I'm going by the dealer tomorrow, but I figure he'll scare me to death. Everyone says he is outrageous on his parts.

Thanks for all the help.

Dude, I like it! Can do easy.

Is the front two pins all the hold it up? I see where they pin, but I've been looking in the rear for a way to pin it back there. Maybe thats my problem.

I did find it was very easy to take off by lifting the front wheels with the loader. That's probably what I'll do from now on.

Thanks though.
