Hi all, new to the forums. Forgive me if this question has been asked... I could not find it with the search feature.
Just picked up a used B2400HSD yesterday. I believe it's pre-'97 so must be a '95 or 96'. 1200 hours, super clean machine. Was owned by an elderly man that bought it new. Looks like all he did was use it as a big riding mower with the belly mower attachment.
Everything seems to work well. Starts right up with a "cold" engine. The problem is after running for a while if I cut it off, I can't get it to start back up until it cools down for a while. The starter seems to work fine, battery is charged, fuel line is turned on, engine was not overheated (according to gauge) when turned off, radiator is full of coolant, oil and fuel all good. Engine just puffs black smoke while trying to start. Any ideas where to start? Fuel cutoff solenoid? If so, how do I troubleshoot?
I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am trainable.
Thank you!
