I stopped again today to look at the B26 and noticed that the backhoe was making a load noise while using the backhoe. I traced the noise back to the two top pins that pin the backhoe to the tractor frame. The top pins were very loose which made the entire backhoe move back and forth and make a rather loud banging noise. Have any of you guys with the B26's noticed the same problem? I have never noticed this problem with any other Kubota TLB.

I own a B26 and never experienced any strange noises. I would check you hydraulics. You may bave air bubbles in the fluid causing noise during flow and it can cause vibrations or noise.

If the 2 top pins are loose (2 of the 4 point rigid mount) then the hoe (probably the operator platform) would be banging into the main tractor body itself. The pin setup is slightly different than the B21 which has latches that form a loop around a pin, and if you don't keep the loader down tight against the ground when using the hoe, you get the issues you are describing now.

You can see the entire backhoe platform move as a result of the movement of the two top pins within the mounting holes of the backhoe platform. It appears as if the pins are smaller than the mounting holes or vice versa. Has this annoyed you when operating the backhoe?

My L48s do not have the pin -in -hole set up your B26 has, I like your set up better, but I assumed the pins would be pretty darn well machined to allow none if any play within the hole sockets. Not only that, but if the pins where undersized, the recieving holes would soon be worn to a wider diameter, and greatly magnifying the damage and problem. I would make sure they are the exact pins, and maybe check that if there should be bushings in the recieving holes that they are installed.

I took a few pictures and measured the upper pins and it holes. The original hardware is tight I recall it taking some effort to relieve the strain to push the upper pins out by hand. The upper two pin holes are about 1.27" and the pins are 1.25".

One other to check is that the lower pins are properly set into the frame support.

It your upper pins are incorrect hardware, I wonder how they got there?

My pins are FAR from loose. As part of my familiarization process I removed the backhoe yesterday to check everything. The pins needed a little nudging to remove, but putting them back when remounting the backhoe took much more effort.

Sam, your measurements would confirm the tight tolerance. I tried varying the amount of rear wheel lift while replacing the pins to find a "sweet" spot. Have you found this sweet spot with your B26?

Thanks guys for all the replies. I am supposed to have this tractor delivered on Friday, however, I am and getting nervous of all the small issues I have found with this tractor. Kubota typically has very good quality control. These are the current problems I have found:

1) Broken front chain hook.
2) Loose backhoe pins as described in the previous posts.
3) Damaged left front cylinder rod.
4) Noise make a right hand turn.

I am going to take a long hard look at this machine before delivery.

Is this tractor new or used? If it is new you shouldn't have any problems.

Just a tad late answering this thread. I have a B26 and it's as quiet as a church mouse. One can not see any movement at the pin location or any other point. :)
