B26 Front chain hook

I was looking at a new Kubota B26 today, and I noticed that it did not have a front chain hook to anchor the tractor to a trailer. I say this, because I have looked at several other B26's and they had the front chain hook. Do you guys with the B26's have the chain hook? Also, is it welded on your tractor or bolted? Maybe it is an option.

The actual tie down location on the B26 is on the front of the tractor welded to the frame underneath. It looks like a large U bolt shape

That "U" shaped loop is where it is easiest to latch to, some people run it thru the loader tube (not me), but I now have attached to clevis links to both side of the L48 frames pre-drilled holes. The "U" shaped loop broke on me when being pulled out and made me question the strength of this latch point for trailering. Idon't knowabout the B26, but the L48 had latch issues with the existing angle of the "U" loop when attaching to trailer points.

When the dealer delivered my B26 they had the tiedown chains secured through the openings under the upper quick attach loader bracket. There is a tiedown "eye" on the rear under the backhoe.

I went back to my dealer yesterday to take a second look for that front U-shaped chain hook. To my surprise, the welds were there but hook was gone. Apparantly the hook broke-off during the delivery of the machine. The weld appeared to be very small. I would be very suspious of the integrity of the welds for these chain hooks. It would be an awful thing if someone was trailering this machine and the front chain hook broke.

See what I am talking about.......try the clevis links thru the pre-drilled frame holes. Works great. Suprised the daler didn't mention the broken hook, maybe the delivery guy just said "Ooops" and didn't mention it.

I don't see this condition on my 26. I took the following pictures and forgot to get the welded side of the hooks. Mine is a nice solid bead of weld the length of each side of the U hook.

This condition is sure scary. I hope to bring my new B26 home very soon. I am going to figure out a new way to use a front chain hook. Thanks for the pictures and be careful.
