B26 Thumb

I took delivery of a new B26 last month, all the plumbing is in place for the hydraulic thumb however I did not get the pistion and thumb. I called the dealer this week and they quoted just over $1000.00 for the piston and thumb. Does this seem high? Does anyone know of an after market piston and thumb that would fit?

I have a B-26 with a thumb. I paid about $1800 extra for the kit installed complete with hydraulic work. I dont know how that price compares to other areas, but it seems in line with your quote.

That is very reasonable, I paid $3,400 to have my L48s plumbed and fitted with a custom hyd. thumb by Chappells before they (Kubota) offered factory thumbs. I say buy it no question. Believe me, when you try it out, you will think like the rest of us...........best thing since women, beer, and other things so nice. Good luck.

After using the thumb you will never want to run a hoe with out one. And Yes the price is worth gettting the kubota one, or at least thats why I got it on my B26 in December.

When I purchased my B26 in June of 07 I paid $844.32 for the hydraulic thumb installed and delivered.

Did the price you mention include the hyd plumbing? If so that was a great price.

It really hurts my wallet knowing how much hyd. thumbs have come down in price now that Kubota does all the plumbing and valving factory stock, huuugggeee cost saving as that is where all the work is in installing a thumb. At that price I'll put one on my brand new F450 Super Duty dump!!!!

As I stated in the thread it included installation and ready to be used upon delivery. At that time I had 3 quotes that were within $75 to $125 of that price which was the lowest one I got. ($844.32)

Forgot to mention that it was installed by factory as I ordered it that way. At least I believe the factory installed it and not the dealer. The dealer was 900 miles away so I'm not really sure, all I know it was all set to go when we got it to play with.
