Kubota B26 now L39
Traded in B26 for an L39. It was a last minute change from the M59. The $11,000 difference...was the difference. I miss the HST of the B26 but the GST has a lot of pushing and pulling power. For moving sand and digging clay in the 3 acre pond project the difference between the two tractors is amazing. I am sure the M59 would have been Godzilla but the L39's backhoe breaks the clay very easily where the B26 struggled. But the biggest difference is the stability of the L39 carting full buckets of sand up and down steep inclines all day. It is night and day. I had 480 hours on the B26 in 11 months. I have 16 hours on the L39 in two days. It easily doubles if not triples the work output of the B26. So far I am satisfied. Just don't try to remove factory fresh backhoe pins sealed with paint without a sledge hammer:)

Nice machine, if it where me I probably would have spent the extra $ for the M59 as I need the biggest TLBs I can get my hands on. Seems like short $ for such a big difference in machine. How much did you pay for the L39? Nice machine, congratulations....and pictures when you get it dirty please.

CurtisFarmer,
I got the L39 for $37,000 drive out. It came with a 6 ft box blade, a 3 pt hitch, bolt on cutting edge, bucket hooks and green sealant in the tires. The same setup for the M59 was $48,000. I will post some pictures of the 39 in the crater know as "the pond" as soon as I get out of the seat...which will probably be a while. After bouncing around on the B26, I am enjoying the stability, the wider foot print and extra 3000 lbs of machine. You are right...I would have preferred the M59...just couldn't swing it...maybe next year :). I notice you have 2 L48s...are those for your private use on your land or do you have a construction company?

I run a small "Boutique" landscape construction company so I need the big TLBs and the KX excavator. I also have a large farm where I run a wedding business so I use the machines here as well. I have built all my owns roads, underfround utilities, parking, and everything else myself, so my machines pay for themselves when it comes time to "play" with them. Without those 2 uses I couldn't afford the L48s or the KX121-3 and would probably be lucky to own something as big as a L39. Nothing like having your own backhoes and excavators, I use the for everything from taking out the trash to building ponds for my son. I hope you enjoy your new machine, I like the GST just as much as the HST and specifically miss it this time of year for plowing.

Enjoy the new L39, I have been really impressed with the B26 we just got and how well it gets in small area's and digs big. I could not emagine trying to dig a 3 acre pond with anything that small, but if you have the time enjoy the seat time.
