...Unless the stabilizers are up. Same with the loader- can lift the front of the tractor up with the stabilizers down but with them up it will come right up a foot. Prior to adding a hydraulic thumb I believe I had the same pre existing issue. After the thumb add on I changed the hyd oil and hyd filters then purged of air by cycling the steering wheel left and right as per the manual. The dipstick is yellow and slick and very hard to read with new oil on it..
The above symptoms seem to be a hyd fluid level issue but the level does appear correct on the dipstick but it逞エ a slick stick and bright yellow and I・ thinking of using some 60 grit paper on it to make it potentially more legible..

Agree the dipstick is hard to read. Plastic and round. With the belt grinder made a slight flat on one side helped me.

Those two rear hydraulic drain plugs are a bear to get to. Had to remove the 3pt hitch to get to them. Made notes in my shop manual for next time.

Before 400hrs the hydraulic suction elbow on the right side had developed splits. Splits occur where you can’t see. Installed a new updated line that goes from the hydraulic filter housing to the pump. Air in hydraulics always cause problems. Details in a separate post.

Not sure if I fully understand your backhoe problem. Do the simple things first. Correct oil level. Check that rubber elbow. Controls should freely return to neutral.

Big project you have going on. Those timber bundles are massively heavy!

At Home Depot last night. They have a B26 TLB that rents for $319/day plus tax. FYI.

Thanks smokeydog for the reply.. yeah if you would re-read my original post you will see my problem the two functions don稚 work at the same time if the stabilizers are down. I値l check the elbow..
I don稚 know of any two rear hydraulic drain plugs in the back when I used the book to change the hydraulic oil out..? Can you elaborate on that for me a bit?

I cleaned and then slightly heated the dipstick with a propane torch. That made the dipstick metal sort of blue/brown. Now can see the fluid against the dipstick color.

Both in mine owners manual and shop manual there are three hydraulic oil drain plugs. One center bottom of the oil tank and each side of the rear axle. The manual pictures show them without all the steel frame members in the way. The manuals make it look easy but it is not. If other members know a trick to reach these it would be valuable information. A Ring of 14mm bolts hold the axle tubes to the main housing and a single 12mm bolt/plug at the bottom of both sides. Hard to get to. I had to remove the 3pt arms and slide the lower 3pt mounting pin on the tractor to have access for each rear drain plug. Maybe got 1-2 quarts after draining main tank. With the backhoe off the 3pt hitch is already removed. But you still might have to slide the 3pt mounting pin if installed. 3pt hitch was an option.

Did you use Kubota filters? The two Kubota filters are similar but very different in specifications. One for HST and one for hydraulic.

I read your description several times. Getting some dingbats in your text so thanks for any clarification.

That rubber elbow has me spooked and will change and check for cracks at the next 400hr service. A weak link in an otherwise tough as nails machine. Have to remove the right rear tire to install the updated suction hard line. Only one bolt but takes the right combination of socket, universal joint and extensions to reach.

Geez I didn’t know any of that smokeydog. My Kubota WSM made no note whatsoever of anything but the drain bolt under the tank and to unscrew and screw in new filter Quickly. Quickly was the only side note, lol. I’ll look mor into this thanks

Sheesh I jut reread you last post smokedog and I will touch on all now..
My oil is changed and with genuine and correct KUBOTA filters x2 so I will not remove other bolts but I will paint pen them and note in my manual for next time. I recall the same issues were apparent prior to thumb swap and they are as follows-

When I bring the boom and the stick back towards the cab at the same time only the boom moves.. unless the stabilizers are up then both functions operate simultaneously and perfectly. Seems to be an air and fluid level issue.. I will put a rough flat on the dipstick as you advised to get a better read. Also the FEL does the same thing as the hoe in that the bucket up or down function and the bucket tilt forward backward function will not lift the front of the tractor up unless the stabilizers are up. Again seems to be fluid level has a part in this as well as possible air in system.

I will get an owners manual to go with the WSM.
I do have the complete three point option:)

The tractor is a 2007 with 540 hours and according to you comments the suction rubber elbow is extremely suspect as 400 hours was quite a while ago.. I purchased the machine early this year 2020 with 539 hrs and barged it up from Washington and it is now on my place. I wish I knew about the elbow as I’m now in wetland area 60 miles from where I did maintenance and work on the machine and I’m hesitant to spill oil in any amount.
I thought the problem was corrected but the boom and stick thing reared it’s head again after I got it to my place:( Buuut I will do what I need and take precautions against spills maybe a kiddie pool from wallyworld when I have the tire off.
Going to contact KUBOTA for the updated suction elbow today. Do you have a part number handy by chance?

Well I think that should about cover it, freeze’

The hydraulic filter on the right side is a course filter/screen suction side to pump. Filter housing bolted to side of tank. Can’t change without loosing a lot of oil but the change interval is 400hrs just like the super UDT oil.

The HST filter is fine polishing filter located on left side above the tank. Low oil loss. Change interval is 200hrs.

I have to write on each new filter box the type and which tractor when I buy them or I’ll loose track.

The whole new updated suction line, 32741-39150 replacement including the rubber elbow(040) $23.46

My B26 is 2016 model so not sure when they changed the design.
