Good Morning...just looking at specs for new B2601HSD. The online "Specification" sheet says Position Control Valve...whereas the 2015 Kubota Brochure (dated 01/15) says Quarter Inching for B2301 and B2601??

Targeting a Position Control as "most" comments I have read say that is "better"...while the 1/4 inching is "OK"??

Looking to stay below the Tier IV...only other Position Control choice at 26HP or lower appears to be the B2650...which may be my choice anyway.

Curious about the new B2601...Thanks...Tom R

P.S. John Thomas...Yes, I know I am STILL looking :) I currently (this weekend) have a dealer used loaner...an older BX w/60" mower deck and spent a couple of hours on it yesterday. Loved the mowing but not the "ride" so much...I think it is that I travel faster than I did/could with my old lawn tractor and "discovered" how truly uneven my field is!! The 60" deck handled the very uneven field with very little scalping. BOY does 60" mow faster than 42"...and does the diesel power perform well in clearing cutting from under the deck! Does longer wheelbase of B20 series handle rougher terrain a bit better than the BX?? Think the B series may be better for me...would sure love to demo a B w/60" deck to confirm mowing and handling. Thanks...TMR

It's definitely position control on the 2601. But if you can get a hot deal on an older B2620 with the quarter-incher, don't let that bother you one bit. I have had both and for my uses it's no big deal either way.

Thanks Triple R...date of CA brochure "Cat.No.0000-01-US Printed in Japan.D.REX.'14-AUG"

The Kubota 80 page "2015 Brochure" which cover tractors..."FL2015 01/15"...says "B2301/B2601 and B3350SUHSD standard tractor have a quarter inching valve for 3-point hitch. B2650HSD and B3350HSD have position control"

Current online specification sheet says B2301 and B2601 have "Position control valve".

Likely the current online sb accurate...I will verify with dealer but sounds like the 2301 and 2601 may have Position control valve...a current owner may confirm for us...Thanks...TMR

For some, position control is no big deal, but for me it is. I have both type and absolutely hate the drift down and inability to set implement height without looking back all the time. I also miss the ease of fine adjustments on he go.

Can someone explain to me what the difference is between position control and 1/4 incher is??

Position control moves the 3pt with the lever position. Meaning all the way down on the lever is all the way down on 3pt and vice versa. It lets you set hp3pt height based on lever position.

Qtr inch means your lever has basically 3 positions. Down, stop, up. You move lever up to raise and it won't stop until you return lever to the center position... If 3pt leaks down, you have to manually raise it till you find the same spot...

I've had both and position control is my preference...
