I upgraded my B2630 alternator thanks to the posts here.
I would suggest if you are not mechanically savy don't attempt this!
For anyone attempting this a couple of notes:
1. Calling what comes in the kits as directions would be an exaggeration, a parts list a better term. I was hoping for an updated wiring diagram but considering what I got for paperwork that wasn't going to materialize.
2. Upper bracket was raw metal so buy some paint with the kit.
3. The kit fits several tractors so the spacers are a "Rube Goldberg" affair. I made my own, now they are probably OK I'm just a perfectoinist. Washers and the alternator battery nut were missing also ( just lucky I have some metric stuff).
4. The belts appear to be the same length, the original is notched the new one is plain, but the new one works best. trust me on this I tried about 4 times to get the original one on.
5. Antifreeze will leak out of the thermostat outlet when you take the top bracket bolts out so have it painted and dry so you can put it right back on and the leak will stop (I didn't do this, UGH).
6. I took the dipstick out ,cut the bracket off, rebent it to come out between the muffler and the tappet cover and welded a new bracket back to the tube. Yes you could have just bent it around and it would have worked but I didn't like the dog leg it had in it, made the dipstick go in and out hard.
7. It doesn't say what to do with the existing wiring but it is all needed but the blue wires to the old dynamo and the regulator. The Red wire and 30 amp fuse still feed the existing fuse block and circuits. I cut the red and black wires off the regulator and pulled the connectors out of the old plug to give me another hot and ground under the dash.
8. Getting the dash apart was a treat. I pulled the steering wheel. The guage cluster will come off of the steering column and throttle but only if you turn it just so (and don't ask me to repeat the process as I don't know how I did it).
