When I start my tractor up (cold) I have no hydraulics I let it warm up about 5 min, then have some (little) use...If I try and drive it the pump screams and I don't have any steereing, forward or reverse, loader movement etc...
After it gets good and warm everything seems fine..I haven't had this problem in the past..Fluid level is good. Any help 'thanks

I would change your fluid and check for water/metal in it, along with clean the screen and new filters.

I might suggest Super udt at your next change. It is flows better at low temperatures and designed to do so. Perhaps you may have regular udt in it? Is it time for a change, and new filter? Any additional HST whine volume? Don't think that B has a screen. Also, how fast does the temp gauge rise? If you have recently changed the filter, let us know. You may have a vacuum leak there by having 1.) no gasket or 2.) two gaskets. This happens with regular oil changes all the time, if the tech isn't good about making sure the old filter gasket isn't stuck on there and screws on another filter on top of it. Gasket sticking is typically caused by failure to lube the gasket and/or over tightening.

I have about 100 hrs since last change, I used napa filters and udt oil. I'm going to change filters to kubota and use super udt this week and see if there is a difference. I do my own servicing so I'm sure there is not a gasket issue, but I will check this also. As far as temp rise I have really not paid attention to that, thanks

As far as I know, there isn't a direct replacement for the Kubota HST filter on the aftermarket. If you have a NAPA, I am wondering how you chose it,

I think it would be a really, really, really good idea to pick up a Kubota HST filter, and Super udt and give it a change. My guess is that you will find an improvement in performance.

I used their web site and cross referenced the numbers..I have used these now for couple years with no problem, this is the first time i've had trouble

I know I have tried using the Wix site to cross reference the HST filter on my BX, your B may be a different situation.

I came up with Zip on cross/ref mine.

That said, here's my concern. Even if I came up with a cross/ref, how do I know that such a filter is an HST filter and not an oil filter? How do I know if it will perform even close in terms of back pressure, relief, and filtration?

Likely, the cross/ref is simply matching basic thread on information.
BTW, I use Super udt and still, it was a bit slow at 15 degrees this morning. I sure don't want anything thicker in there.
Best Regards,

I'm with bp....... buy Kubota filters for a couple bucks more and (bend over and) but Kubota's SUDT........ its what Kubota requires for cold weather use. Even with those changes, i'd still plan on a little warm up time in winter.
