B2630 OR B3030 SMOOTHER RUNNING !

THE DEALERS ARE TELLING ME THE 3030 IS A MUCH SMOOTHER RIDING TRACTOR BECAUSE OF THE FOUR CYLINDERS. COMPARED TO THE 2630 WHICH HAS 3 CYLINDERS. CAN A LARGER ENGINE RUN SMOOTHER? IS THE 3030 WORTH THE EXTRA $1300 - $1500 ?

Good question. You should drive both of them yourself and make up your own mind on that. I have a B3030 and it has all the power one could want from a tractor that size. Unless you are doing a lot of heavy PTO work I would think the B2630 would have all the power you need, as well. For loader and BH work you don't need the extra power.

When it comes to smoothness, fuel quality has a lot to do with it in my B3030. I can always tell when I use fuel from a particular company vs. fuel from another station that I buy it from. It has more noticeable vibration when I use fuel from the station that is most convenient to me. If I put in some Howes fuel conditioner it smooths right out. When I buy from the other station the additive is not needed. I can't, however, tell any difference in my truck with a Cummins. Just my experience. YMMV. Good luck.

I only have about 3 acres but chose the 3030 over the 2630 as the higher hp allows me to use a 5 ft rotary cutter wiith ease even in high weeds as opposed to 4 ft for the 2630. the 5 ft covers more than the width of my tire tracks. i felt the extra cash was worth it and a 3 hp tractor may be easier to resell later.

3 cylinder engines are generally smoother running. Has to do with harmonics and balance. Check both out at a dealer.

Some people are more sensitive to it than others. The reason I went green instead of orange this last time around was that I wanted a 30 HP tractor, and all the B3030's I tried were way too buzzy for me. My 3 cyl Kubs were smooth as glass at operating RPMs.
