I need a hydraulic cylinder for the angle function of my plow blade. So I checked Messicks and Kubota and to no surprise they want your first born, right arm, left ********, and 3 pints of blood. Basically 700 for the cylinder. Anyone replace one of these or buy one thru Surplus Center or another Hydraulic Cylinder supplier? I'd like to get specs or part numbers

You can't get your oem one rebuilt?

No, just bought the plow without hydro

What if you look up the stroke, pin size on each end and see what's available. Here's a screen shot from Princess Auto (Can. Harbour Freight) of one style of cylinder

After measuring what collapsed and extended lengths I need, I look through what's the best fit on Surplus Center's web site.

With some luck the diameter of the pins is correct, too, without the need for sleeves or welding. And then also order the hoses and fittings needed. Done.

Probably just the need to tinker, but I added a cushion valve to my plow, so I didn't have to worry about popping anything if I caught one side of the blade on something. Of course, with global warming, we haven't had snow to plow in several years... It did work, the time or two I was plowing serious snow and had frozen banks on the sides.
