I just bought a new snowblower (B2781b front mount) and installed it on my 2006 B7610. My question is concerning the amount of noise the blower makes, it seems to be chain related noise.
Wondering if this is normal or should I contact my dealer.
I'm used to the belt drive blower on my old garden tractor which was quiet. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm assuming you have lubricated the chain. Regardless, I wouldn't characterize mine as quiet. I find it roars a bit louder when lifted.

Just started looking at a front mount blower for my B7610 (also a 2006 model). Can you give any pointers for your purchase decision? (did you look at other brands/models?)

There are very few options when it comes to snowblowers. I believe both the kubota brand and John deere/Frontier are made by the same manufacturer.

Thanks. I guess that's why my searches are not showing much.

mine makes a fair amount of chain noise too. I keep it lubed every 10 hours or so and have had no problems. Make sure you lube the zerks on the impellers (one on each side) as well as both shaft universal joints. Also when your shear a bolt, and you will, make sure your impeller is in the right position when you install the bolt.

This question is asked here not infrequently. I wondered the same thing with I first heard mine (BX2750D). They do quiet some when loaded with snow. As mentioned previously, I think Kubota recommends lubing the chain every 10 hrs. with chain saw bar oil.

Kubota's blowers are made in Canada by RAD Technologies. I'm not sure who makes Deere's but it might be the same. There are certain aspects that look similar.

My 2750D made a fair amount of noise also. I read on this forum about checking chain tension. Mine was loose so I tightened it a bit and it was quite a bit quieter. I think I followed the procedure in my snowblower manual but maybe the procedure was posted on the forum, can't recall. I also lube with chain lube at start of season and before putting it away for the season.

Thanks for the replies, I did lube and check chain tension per the manual. Perhaps after break-in it will quiet some.

I believe the noise you are hearing is the universal joint when the blower is fully lifted.

I try and not raise mine more than a few inches off the ground when the PTO is engaged as at full lift it makes a ridiculous racket.

Try it!
