B2782 snowblower lubrication question

Just installed the B2782 blower today in preparation for winter.
I've always fought greasing the front universal joint on the front mid-PTO driveshaft.The very front one,at the input to the blower,surrounded by the metal guard and the driveshaft safety guard.I usually manage to get the grease hose coupler in there somehow from the bottom.
There must be a better way I'm not seeing.Your ideas appreciated as always.

Do you have the room to use a small diameter hole saw
that you can use to drill a hole directly over the point in both guards
where the grease fitting will be located at the 12 o' clock position?

You may have to remove the snow caster to do the drilling work safely
but it would make the job easier for you.

number two--not exactly sure what you are saying, but I've always found it easier to grease the uni-joints on my front mount blower before I install it on the tractor. Easier to turn and bend the joints for access. Subsequent greasing during the season (seldom needed) can be a bit problematic. Regards, Mike

Leonz:I'm sure tempted to drill access hole(s)to make it easier.Was hoping another owner may have a slick way or modification.
Mike:I also pre lube my driveshaft before installation-it is easier.The troublesome joint is the very front one which stays with the blower.The yoke of this shaft is attached to the input shaft to the blower,Surrounded top and both sides by a steel guard.And of course the stub shaft is covered with that rotating safety plastic shield I can't figure out how to remove.And I usually have to lube mid-sesson as well.
Baring any great ideas,I may just live with it and when replacement time comes it would be nice to find a non-greaseable Spicer u-joint for this position.

NumberTwo: I have this same blower and the same issue you do. I reached the same conclusion you suggest: I try to lube it before installation and mid-season but mostly just live with the understanding that it can't be lubed well. Mine is ten years old and gets lots of use, so apparently it doesn't need a whole lot of lubrication.

Birch:thanks for your reply with your experience with your blower.Glad to hear yours has held up well with what we believe to be less than adequate lubrication.I was starting to think I was alone with this observation.Thanks again.

And thank YOU for posting the question. All these years I always had a nagging doubt that somehow I was missing something. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one with an issue here!
