Are these interchangeable?
1) Filter (no other description) R-003 1Q 408
2) Oil Filter Cartridge W-479 1Q409
3) Oil Filter Cartridge Z-084 2Q 408

These were given to me for the 50 hr. maintenance.
1 and 3 look close to the same for transmission filters
2 looks close to the oil filter.

Before I go any further I need some assistance. Can I use "oil filter cartridge" for transmission? It seems to fit.

The numbers do not match the numbers shown on Tractorsmart.com filter for 2910 for 2910 filters, however, as long as you got them from the Kubota dealer you should be OK.

1 of them is for engine oil, the other 2 are hydraulic fluid filters. Look at the tractor and compare each one to the filters that are on the tractor. One of the hydraulic filters is a little smaller than the other one.

They are NOT interchangable.

Hey, Bill
Thank you for your help. The problem was that the numbers on the filter box did not correspond with the actual filter itself. Seems the the dealer knows as much as I do.

Also, on filter 66021-36060
it is written "oil filter" on the cartridge but on the link you provided it is used for the transmission. Am I making sense? Kubota makes it difficult for the novice. I think I know what I am doing now. Famous last words. Thanks again.

In this case they mean transmission oil. We tend to think of "oil" as engine oil and the other stuff as transmission fluid.

In my manual for a B7510 it says:

"Transmisson oil
The oil used to lubricate the transmission is also used as hydraulic fluid......"

However, this stuff was designed and named by the Japanese and they may use some words a little differently that we do. Even in the Operator's Manual I see things that were written by someone whose first language is definitely not English.

As for the different numbers on the box and on the filters, heaven only knows why a manufacturer would do somethng like that, but they do.
